Danica Ganje, PT, DPT | Physical Therapist

Danica grew up in the sunny desert of Tempe, Arizona. After getting her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Arizona State University, she then earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from A. T. Still University. Following graduation, she traded the SW for the PNW’s ocean and mountain cascades, finding a beloved community of friends in Portland.

Danica’s 1:1 evaluation and patient-specific treatment approach involves looking at the whole body. She enjoys helping others find and address areas of their life that contribute to the present state of injury and/or impairment. She desires to help her patients have lifelong wellness. She understands how frustrating it can be when injuries occur; seemingly impacting one’s normal rhythm of life. She utilizes therapeutic exercises/activities, education, and various manual therapy techniques as needed to help patients overcome seasons of injury and reach their goals. Her experience as a Doctor of Physical Therapy includes working with a wide range of diagnoses, primarily focusing on outpatient orthopedics. Her lifelong love of learning keeps her continually taking PT courses to sharpen her skills to better serve her patients. Danica is a Certified Running Gait Analyst and has a particular passion for working with runners.

Outside of the clinic, Danica loves spending time with friends and family. She frequents the outdoors and the exploration of beauty all around. Some favorites include: soaking up the sun, trail running, dancing, music, surfing, backpacking/hiking, drawing/water coloring, and reading. Despite the hard times of life we all go through, she believes life is filled with purpose and there is a reason for joy to be discovered.

Born and raised in Oregon, Ryan attended the University of Oregon where he received his B.S. in Human Physiology. He then received his doctorate in physical therapy (DPT) degree from Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ in 2014.

After moving back to Portland in 2016, he devoted significant time to pursuing education with the Institute of Physical Art, learning about their treatment focus on Functional Manual Therapy®. Ryan completed their certificate program as a Certified Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT) in 2019.

His clinical philosophy focuses on the whole body instead of just focusing on where it hurts and incorporates active movement patterns into his interventions. These are far more effective and give longer lasting benefits than passive manipulations or modalities.

In his free time, Ryan enjoys skiing, mountain biking, hiking with his Corgi pups, and traveling

Born in Texas, Jennifer has a father that was an archeologist at the Alamo so she got to dig in the dirt with the grad students as a kid. She moved to Santa Fe NM before teen years and grew up there, when there was really nothing for a teen to do. Jennifer graduated from a small high school with a class of 9, but went on to UNM for Biological Anthropology where she actually held a Neanderthal bone in her hand. She moved to San Francisco as the year 2000 rolled around, but then returned to New Mexico to apply to the PT program at UNM School of Medicine.

After graduation, Jennifer lived and worked between Denver, Albuquerque, and Santa Fe, then decided to leave full time PT work to pursue a 2nd undergraduate degree in Art History. Random but amazing. She went back to full time PT and, a few years later, was recruited away from the Southwest dry heat for a job in Tacoma and the rain of the PNW.

After 4 years in Tacoma, her partner and her decided to bring their 2 fur babies to Portland to enjoy the foodie and artistic scene. Jennifer loves to garden and bake and cook, and watch the rain snuggled on the couch with her furry little knuckleheads. She is excited about the food and art scene in Portland and is looking forward to exploring her new area with her Partner and fur babies.

She moved to Portland in 2020 and fell in love with the city’s natural landscapes and unique food scene. She enjoys supporting others and creating organizational systems, which is why she was excited to join the administrative team at Therapydia.

In her spare time, Laurel can be found cooking meals with her partner, gardening, crocheting, and doing yoga. She loves trying new things and is always searching for new restaurant recommendations.

Kristen Harvey, MPT, OMPT, FAFS

Physical Therapist

Kristen grew up in Michigan, outside of Detroit, and initially became an Occupational Therapist. Having discovered an aptitude and desire for manual therapy, she returned to PT school and graduated from Oakland University in 1996, and continued on to get her Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy certification from Oakland University’s Kaltenborn/Evejenth OMPT program in 2000. During her professional career, she began to follow the work of Dr. Gary Gray and Applied Functional Science. She completed the GIFT training in 2013 as a student, to become a Fellow of Applied Functional Science and then in 2015 as a mentor/coach. These two treatment philosophies shape her treatment approach to treat the entire person, being a body detective to tease out the integral interconnections to re-establish wholeness and wellness. Most of her experience has been with orthopedic injuries, and she has developed particular expertise in treating pain in a holistic, functional movement based, mind- body integrated framework.

Since arriving in Tacoma WA in 2009, she has enjoyed exploring the beauty of the Pacific Northwest through hiking, biking, running and photography. She also enjoys pottery, rock climbing and reading. A recent transplant to Portland, she is enjoying the variety of food, live music and the aliveness of the area.

Liz Henderson, PT, DPT, MTC

Physical Therapist

Liz received her clinical doctorate in physical therapy (DPT) from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in 2019. Following graduation, she relocated to Portland and worked for 3 years in an outpatient orthopedic setting. Liz is new to the Therapydia North Portland team in 2022 and is excited to join Therapydia because of their philosophy of one-on-one care for lifetime musculoskeletal wellness.

She uses manual therapy techniques, therapeutic strengthening and coordination exercises to address the unique needs of each patient. She completed a year-long clinical training program in 2021 and now holds a Manual Physical Therapy Certification (MTC). This program equipped her to use advanced manual therapy techniques like spinal and joint mobilizations, manipulations and soft tissue massage.

Liz and her husband, Beau, enjoy backpacking and exploring all things outdoors in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, especially local wildflowers and plants. When she’s not hiking, she enjoys creative outlets of embroidery and illustration, or reading epic fantasy novels.
